Adam Kuhn is a Principal Solutions Consultant at OpenText Legal Tech and an eDiscovery lawyer based out of Tampa, Florida. Adam works with some of the world’s largest enterprises, law firms, and regulators on their legal technology programs and workflows with an emphasis on predictive systems for investigations and document review.

He holds an advanced certification for OpenText Axcelerate and received the Rossman award from the USPTO Society for his contributions to legal scholarship. Adam received his JD and MBA from the University of San Francisco and his BA from New York University.

Amir has worked in Private Practice for 21 years for a few leading firms of Solicitors who specialised in Dispute Resolution, Insolvency, together with Company & Commercial work at senior management level. He was also Head of Litigation for a Midlands based National Leasing Plc.

Amir was invited to join the High Court Enforcement Officers Association (formally known as the High Court Sheriff`s Association) firstly at John Marston & Co (now Marston Group) where he was Client Relationship Manager for over three years before joining High Court Enforcement Group as Director of Client Services and Business Development. Amir has over 34 years of experience in both the Legal and Enforcement Sectors in the UK.

Amir is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Managers (FCICM) and is a member of CICM’s Think Tank and Technical Committee. CICM overseas & is responsible for £4 Trillion of Trade Debt in the UK and abroad.

Additionally, Amir was elected to the post of Vice Chairman of the CCUA (Civil Court Users Association) in September 2009, (Acting Chairman from February 2015 to October 2015) and served as Chairman of both their National Council & Events Steering Committees. The Association is charged with airing and addressing the concerns of all Civil Court Users in England and Wales at the very highest levels of Government, Ministry of Justice (MOJ), and Her Majesty’s Courts & Tribunal Service (HMCTS) to include all other Stakeholders concerned with Policy Change within the Civil Realm.

The CCUA generates £610 Million of Revenue per annum for HMCTS in Court Issue Fees alone.

The CCUA is the Lead Partner HMCTS has on their £1.2 Billion Court Reform Programme with a delivery date of 2023 (also known as the Briggs’ Reforms, named after Lord Briggs’ Review of the Civil Court Structure in England & Wales back in 2015 and before being elevated to The Supreme Court).

Amir sits on the Law Advisory Board at Coventry University.

The Civil Court Users Association represents the interests of the collective Creditor, Legal & Enforcement Sectors combined.

Amir stepped down as Chairman of the CCUA in September this year after 11 years on the Board.

Andrew is a qualified lawyer with 10 years’ experience working a range of innovative legal and data roles. This is included systems design and applications for data science in a legal context, as well as working closely with academia and launching a legal tech start up. Andrew helps Herbert Smith Freehills’ Alternative Legal Services practice design and implement new ways of using technology to deliver legal services more efficiently and cost effectively.

Chris is Director of Regulatory Policy. He leads the SRA’s policy work aimed at ensuring that our regulation assures high professional standards and supports a diverse and innovative legal sector. With 20 years’ experience in the legal services sector, Chris was previously Head of Research and Development at the Legal Services Board.

Daryl Shetterly is a Six Sigma Black Belt, is the Director of Orrick Analytics, and helps manage Orrick’s Global Operations and Innovation Center in Wheeling, WV. Daryl’s passion is changing the way Big Law delivers legal services by bringing innovation and business process to the practice of law. The Financial Times recognized Orrick Analytics with awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) recognized Orrick Analytics with its Value Champion Award for building a smart contracts model with the law department of Applied Materials.

Daryl manages a team of 30+ tech-savvy attorneys, 100+ contract attorneys, analysts that handle project management, perform big data analysis and statistical modelling, and technologists that build bots, scripts and tools that increase quality and reduce human effort. Daryl’s team designs processes, workflows, templates and document automation used by dedicated project managers to deliver project plans and enable data-driven budgeting and decision-making. As an early adopter of artificial intelligence and machine learning, Daryl’s team uses technology to augment due diligence and drafting tasks, TAR and continuous active learning for litigation projects, and advanced tools for concept and sentiment analysis.

Daryl’s mission is straightforward: enhance the accuracy, speed and security of scalable legal work, generate insights specific to the engagement and reduce client cost.

Doug is the Editor of eDiscovery Today and is an established eDiscovery thought leader with over 30 years of experience providing eDiscovery best practices, legal technology consulting and technical project management services to numerous clients. Doug has published a daily blog since 2010 and has written numerous articles and white papers. He has received the JD Supra Readers Choice Award as the Top eDiscovery Author for 2017 and 2018 and as a Top Cybersecurity Author for 2019. 

Flyn Flesher is Senior Manager of Knowledge Management Counsel for the 850+ attorney labor and employment law firm of Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart, P.C. The KM Counsel team’s responsibilities include creating processes, best practices, and templates to leverage the firm’s institutional knowledge; identifying technological tools that help attorneys work more effectively and efficiently for firm clients (and helping to train attorneys how to use those tools); helping practice areas and client teams collaborate and manage their content; providing updates on legal developments; and fostering knowledge-sharing among attorneys.

In 2018, Mr. Flesher created Ogletree’s internal chatbot to help with answering firm employees’ frequently asked questions, for which Ogletree won the International Legal Technology Association’s (ILTA) 2019 Transformation Project of the Year Award. Mr. Flesher was also named one of ILTA’s 2019 Young Professionals to Watch.

Before joining the firm’s Knowledge Management Department, Mr. Flesher’s practice focused on the representation of management in employment-related litigation before state and federal courts, including class and collective actions. He has represented clients in numerous wage-and-hour cases and cases alleging discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, sex, age, disability, and military membership. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Flesher counseled employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters, particularly with respect to wage and hour issues.

Mr. Flesher received his J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 2007. While attending William and Mary, Mr. Flesher served as editor-in-chief of the William and Mary Journal of Women and the Law and competed on both the moot court and mock trial teams.

Hon. Tanya R. Kennedy is an Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, First Department. She is also the former Supervising Judge of Civil Court, New York County, and a former Adjunct Professor at Fordham University School of Law. Justice Kennedy is a member of the Board of Directors of the New York City Bar Association; Executive Committee Member of the Women in Law Section of the New York State Bar Association; Board Member of the Supreme Court Justices Association of the City of New York, Inc.; and member of the Committee on Pattern Jury Instructions of the Association of Supreme Court Justices of the State of New York. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she received her law degree, and is an Advisory Board Member of Penn State Law. Justice Kennedy is also the Past President of the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ). A frequent speaker at various conferences, she has received numerous professional achievement awards

James Sherer is a Partner in the New York office of BakerHostetler, where he co-leads the Emerging Technology Team for the Digital Assets and Data Management Group while directing Information Governance and Artificial Intelligence engagements.  James holds an MBA, the CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP, and PLS data privacy professional credentials, the CIP and IGP information governance designations, the UCLA Extension Global Cyber Institute’s Cybersecurity Certification, and the CEDS and eDPC eDiscovery specialist credentials.

Kenneth is the Managing Partner and head of Technology at KTA Advocates. Kenneth specializes in intellectual property, technology, media and telecommunications. Kenneth holds a master’s degree, LLM (International Commercial Law) from The University of South Wales, Bachelor’s Degree in Law LLB (Hons) from Uganda Christian University and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.

In the area of intellectual property & technology, Kenneth is a renowned award-winning Advocate, author and trainer and this has cemented his credentials as a specialist in the aforementioned practice areas. He has conducted trainings in areas of ICT such as, block chain technology, digital banking & data protection among others. Kenneth represents and advises governments & international entities such as Zipline, The World Bank, World Economic Forum, Ministry of ICT among others. Kenneth is also a visiting lecturer of intellectual property & Cyber Law at Uganda Christian University and has also conducted lectures on Cyber Law at Makerere University, Law School. Kenneth has advised the Government of Uganda on the integration of ICT into the adjudication processes for Courts of Judicature and advises the Ministry of ICT on innovation and ICT policy development. In the field of Artificial intelligence, Kenneth convened a working group for Uganda and submitted a report to WIPO on Intellectual Property Policy and Artificial Intelligence, 23rd June, 2020 and continues to advise and represent the Government of Uganda on AI & Policy.

Kenneth also represents and advises Uganda at the 4IR Portfolio Communities of the Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution of the World Economic Forum. The 4IR Portfolio Communities include AI, Blockchain, IoT, Digital Trade, Data Policy and Drones.
Kenneth is engaged by the World Bank to support the preparation of the African Drone Forum’s regulatory track under WEF guidance. The African Drone Forum (ADF) is a first-of-its-kind initiative to accelerate the delivery of safe, sustainable, high-impact rural to urban services that harness the potential of autonomous drone technologies. Current partners include UNICEF, World Economic Forum, World Food Program, John Snow Inc., Tanzania Flying Labs, and others.

Lucy Pert, Partner for Hausfeld London, possesses almost 20 years of commercial dispute resolution experience with a focus on financial services, contentious restructuring, insolvency, trusts and shareholder disputes.

She has extensive experience of managing international, cross-border litigation, working frequently in the Chancery and Queen’s Bench Divisions of the English High Court (including Commercial Court) and Court of Appeal, and, has also conducted several commercial arbitrations under the LCIA, ICC and ad hoc rules. Lucy’s clients – who often act adverse to large financial institutions – include corporates, high net worth individuals, hedge funds, private equity funds and insolvency practitioners.

Ludwig Bull is the CEO @ CourtCorrect Textagram.

His life’s goal is to replace every single Terms and Conditions page on the internet with a simple summary of your rights. Ludwig’s background is in artificial intelligence and software engineering. Before starting CourtCorrect Textagram, he developed AI-based risk assessment algorithms for the litigation finance industry.

Ludwig has published a number of research papers and remains involved in academic projects at Imperial College London and Cambridge, where he studied. He also teaches corporate leaders about AI a few days a year at a business school in Zurich. Originally from Germany, Ludwig has lived in the US and the UK for the past decade and is based in London. 

Marc Hirschfeld is the Founder and President of Precision Legal Services, a vendor specializing in providing Computer Forensics and E-discovery services to firms that do not have dedicated E-discovery support in house. Marc is an attorney and has been involved in every aspect of the E-discovery process from identification, preservation, collection, data processing and data hosting to dispute resolution. Marc has testified on computer forensics issues, submitted expert reports in state and federal court as well as presented at Bar Associations across the country on E-discovery strategy and best practices. He has also been appointed in 13 matters to go into an opposing party’s computer system to collect data.

Nicola Shaver is the Managing Director of Innovation and Knowledge at Paul Hastings, based in New York. She is responsible for setting innovation strategy at the firm, including driving innovation initiatives globally, and leads additional functions responsible for innovative technology solutions, knowledge management, resource management, and research services. She is also the co-founder of Legaltech Hub (legaltechnologyhub.com), a platform combining the most comprehensive directory of legal technology tools with a nuanced search capability. Nicola practiced law for almost a decade in Sydney, Australia, and understands first-hand the challenges faced by lawyers in a changing legal environment. Her focus now is on future-proofing firms by enabling practice excellence and optimizing client value, including through streamlining processes, and implementing and leveraging the right technology tools and staffing models in support of all practitioners at the firm.

Ridwan Oloyede leads the privacy, data protection and tech policy team at Tech Hive Advisory. His expertise also includes cybersecurity governance and compliance, policy analysis and data ethics. Ridwan advises clients on global data protection and privacy laws, including regulation compliance, international transfers of data, roll out of new and disruptive technologies, data governance, data localisation, privacy by design, cloud computing and big data, digital health, and global data risk management.

He co-founded Privacy Alliance, an international organisation providing businesses with global privacy solutions. He leads the West-African operation. Ridwan is a Research Fellow at the African Academic Network on Internet Policy (AANOIP). He was recognised as “top 50 Individuals leading in legal innovation in Africa”. Lexology recognised him as the Legal Influencer for TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunication) in Africa and Middle-East for Q4 2018.

Dr. Sam Small serves as the Chief Security Officer of ZeroFOX, helping its customers implement world-class social-media protection programs and supporting ZeroFOX in its role as the innovation leader of social-media and collaborative-technology security solutions. He has a doctorate in computer science from Johns Hopkins University, where he also worked as a lecturer, research scientist, and led an academic security research lab.

In addition to launching and managing two security-industry startups, Dr. Small has provided expert technology and security assessments of dozens of organizations and vendor products and regularly conducts due diligence assessments for software-industry investments, mergers, and acquisitions. He has also served as an expert witness in several high-profile security, software, and network-related lawsuits. Numerous publications have covered his work and research, including Wired, The New York Times, The Washington Post, New Scientist, CNET, ZDNet, and slashdot.

Shahaf is passionate about helping businesses to generate value for their end customers through technology.

Through a deep analysis of the market landscape, competition, and identification of true customer needs, Shahaf conceptualized and delivered various revenue-generating solutions to the Enterprise and public safety markets.

In his current role, Shahaf is the VP of business development and strategic accounts at Cellebrite. Shahaf collaborates with corporates and their service providers to mitigate risk related to digital data.

Before working with the private sector, Shahaf spent his efforts in managing Cellebrite Digital Analytics and Triage solutions aimed at assisting law enforcement to solve more crimes using digital data.

Tracy Springer is a senior in-house attorney at YieldStreet Inc., a NYC-based fintech offering alternative investment opportunities on its platform.  She is passionate about the need for legal teams and financial services to embrace change and incorporate new technologies and ways of working to deliver more efficient solutions for customers.

Until recently, Tracy was a senior finance attorney at a global bank in New York City and London, supporting commercial lending, investment banking and digital partnerships.  She has extensive experience with a broad range of commercial lending transactions, including cross-border financing, syndicated and bilateral lending, asset-based and cash flow financings, leveraged lending, working capital loans and guarantees.  She recently completed a one-year assignment at the bank’s European headquarters as lead lawyer for a large global change project to improve efficiency and reduce costs in the delivery of end-to-end lending services using automated templates, workflow management tools, playbooks and e-signature.

Tracy is a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, Chair of the International Finance Subcommittee of the Commercial Finance Division of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section and writes and speaks frequently at industry conferences on topics relating to legal innovation and cross-border financing.  She received her B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Chicago and her J.D degree, cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

Vedika Mehera is Orrick’s Innovation Advisor. She has devoted her career to improving the delivery of legal services and promoting innovation within law firms. She is trained and skilled in areas of operations and technology, solution design, project management and process improvement. She uses her legal background to understand the business of law, and her technical and process skills to enhance client value. Working closely with clients and matter teams, Vedika’s engagements range from consulting on quick-wins using low fidelity solutions, to in-depth and ongoing collaboration with multiple stakeholders and tools across the firm, to solve complex challenges. She also works closely with the firm’s IT department to assist in researching and advising on technologies for firm-wide adoption that increase the productivity, quality, and efficiency of service delivery.
